Winter League Week 20

Good Morning

Well the Penultimate week was played in good conditions with a little biting wind, but all in all a much better Sunday to be out on the course playing golf.

Making their way in to the winners Circle this week, where Les and Coco (See main Photo). who with their 11 shots, shot a 1 over Gross for a Nett 50 and took the 15 Points and £43.50 winnings each - Well done Gents, and good luck trying to reel the Vice and Holty in. Our runners up this week where Statler and Waldorf (Wilcock / Jolley - Pictured as main feature) who knocked it round in 1 under gross, with their 7 shots returned a 51 Nett which on other weeks would of won, alas it was not to be.

Congratulations to Nashy / Guy as they become the WL Champions for 2025-2026, as they now cant be caught by the chasing pack. Their nearest challengers, even if they win next week and pick up 15 points, their lowest to KO is a 4 - giving them 11 points but only taking them to 125, 1 short of the Champions 126. I am sure you will agree they have played some sterling golf this winter, and Nashy ending up at +8 is a first for the League.

My thanks go to Laffy for yesterday as I subbed for James, he played some great Golf rescuing us on many an occasion. Thanks also to our playing partners Stu and Jude for their company and having a bit of a laugh whilst out on the Course.

Well next Sunday the Curtain will come down on another WL, and after the Golf I would like to see as many as possible there to support the Winners at the Presentation. The Day will begin with the Shot Gun Start @ 9.30 - Kitchen will be open from 8am, serving bacon and / or Sausauge muffins  with a Brew, and you are asked to draw your own Tee from Cosmo in the Clubhouse - I would also ask that once you have your tee you go and see craig and pay and collect your card from the Pro Shop, please do not all decide to ascend on the Pro shop at 9.15. I expect all to be back in the Clubhouse Between 12.30 and 1pm, to grab a quick pint before heading back out to the 1st Tee for about 1.30 - 1.45 for the shoot out Final, which will be quickly followed by the presentation, for which there will be no envelopes involved this year!!
