Winter League 18

Good Morning All

Well Week 18 came and went in a Flash, as the weather went From Frosty conditions on Saturday, to a bit of overnight Snow, fortunately not enough to interfere with the Golf.

Format was both to score, and whilst some struggled, Flanny and Kenny (73 Points) chalked up their 3rd win of the WL , which you would think would have them in contention for the Championship, but not at all and as Kenny said Yesterday 'We either win or get Zero' - which is not far from the Truth to be honest (Flanny and Kenny can be seen on the main feature). Our runners up for the 2nd week running, where Nashy and Guy with  68, winning a 3 way CPO with 33 Points on the back 9 beating Dave Gamble and his Sub Mark Holland - 32 Points - Ian Marsh and Martin Hill - 31 Points. Nashy actually Hit 6 Birdies and 1 Eagle (Which included 3 x 2's but only 1 of those counted @ the 15th) - coming home on the back 9 in 6 Under par Gross, now I dont care how short the course maybe, but that is some golf at our Level - mind you off +5 you need to do that I guess - but well done Nashy 🙌🙌🙌👌. For the Record Nashy will now play off +7 for at least the next week

In the Matchplay Final Dad Richie and Son Ollie made it a First (as far as I can remember) Father and Son winners of a Trophy in the WL, as they Beat Dave McIntosh and Ed Jones 4n2  in the Jones Jug Final - Guess Ed will have to Yet again Present his Trophy to another Pair and not to himself. In the Wiselow best card Final, Mrs Browns Boys came up against an unstoppable Nashy / Guy (Especially Nashy) on the day, and despite trying to be the second Father and Son winners yesterday, it was not meant to be.

On the League front and with them picking up another 12 points yesterday, Nashy / Guy have opened up a 15 point gap on the chasing Pack, With Sid / Woody and Cosmo/ The Colonel back on 103 - I do however have a little investigation ongoing, which may affect the league position of 1 pairing - nothing to do with the top 3 however.

So 3 weeks to go, who can catch Nashy / Guy, i think at least 1 of the chasing pack need to win a week, or at least come runners up - it will be interesting to say the least.

Next week it will be 4 Clubs and a Putter Medal - so if we can share bags that would be great, if you can carry then that will also help - Please do not both go out with Trolleys and 5 Clubs in each one.....................It is your course, try to help it in whichever way you can Please.

As we get ever nearer to the End of the WL, it is time to remind all that in the case of a Tie for the WL title, this will be decided on count back. so at Present it is your best 14 Scores that count, if there is a Tie, it will be then your best 13 and so on until we have a winner.
