Winter League Week 12

Good Morning All and a Very Happy New year to you all

What a wonderful Morning Sunday was - Clear Blue Skies, the Frost was Deep, Crisp but the ground however was far from even - as I am sure you witnessed on more than one occasion, after hitting a Straight shot that hit the deck and swiftly diverted left or right, of if you were lucky went forward. You really had to think your way round and play the conditions and hope lady luck smiled down on you.

Our winners on the day with a Fantastic score of 43 points over 17 Holes, a score gladly accepted in the summer, were Bob and Gedders (Pictured Above), Great Score that to be fair, and it brings another different pair into the Winners enclosure. In Second Place with an equally impressive 41 points where John Finnegan and his Sub Andy Wisedale - well done to all 4 of you. It would be remiss not to also mention 3 pairs on 40 Points, Cordwell / Taylor - Neary / Waites and up there again this week, Raffa and Armo. Also give praise as well to Ian Toole, who on his own amassed an excellent score of 36 points, beating many other pairs on the day.

It turned out to be a very profitable day for Ged, as he won the NP and was also fortunate enough to get a 2. I dont know how many actually hit the green, but I can guess not many as Ged's shot of 29ft was unchallenged.

The Main Picture shows what you are all Playing For - The Dave Boyle Memorial Trophy, and as we enter a New Year we have new leaders as "Passport 2" and "Hair Flick" sit proudly on top of the league with 79 Points, closely followed by Cosmo and the Colonel and my Favs Waldorf and Statler both with 77 points. 7 Points covers the top 9 pairs - however it is very noticeable that none of the top 3 have come in the shot loss places as of yet...................with the chasing pair playing a round less - interesting to say the least.

Hopefully changing the Format last weekend made it a bit more enjoyable, but I think a Multiplier would have been a disaster with something like 20 points winning. I may have to do the same again this weekend, and put multiplier back another week, if I do it will be 4BBB Medal, but lets wait to see what the weekend brings.

The Remaining Knockouts should be done and dusted this Sunday (If we play - If not then I will put the KO back a Week to the 18th, and move the Semis into Feb) so thanks for organising these, I do appreciate it.
