Good Morning All
I hope you all enjoyed yesterday's Golf and the conditions, as the dry conditions have certainly made a difference to the course, as it has firmed it up over the last week or so (Not that I played as I was to busy laughing at McIlroy 3 stabbing from 2ft on 14 and then capitulating on the last hole by hooking his Tee shot into the water, and Tommy Fleetwood sinking his 20ft Putt to win in Dubai).
Congratulations yesterday go To Raffa and Laaaaa (Paul Jones / Tony Cavanagh) as they came out on top with 38 Points to take the Money and the 15 points - They have chosen to support the Pro and put their winnings in their 'Rowlands Rupee' account in the Pro shop. There was a 4 way tie for 2nd place which was decided on a Back 9 (which eliminated 2 pairs) then a back 6 CPO which Spike and Chaz came out on top off with 15 points on the back 6 over Adamski and our Handicap Sec, Jim-bob (who for the record had 14 on the back 6. Good day all around for Spike and Chaz as they managed to get a 2 at 10 (1 of only 3 which paid out £11 to each player) and beat Si and Morecambe in the Qtr Final of the Matchplay KO. Other KO results - Taylor Beat Olive - Berry / Hamer beat Neary / Waites and Wilcock / Jolley beat Keron / Trants. in the best card KO - Neary / Waites beat Holt / Morris - we now await 2 more of the Qtr Finals to be played, which has to be this coming Sunday.
We have new leaders in the Winter League in Willy / DJ, as they have knocked the Captain / Gaz Hall from their long time perch at the top of the League, who 3 weeks ago had a 12 point lead, which has been eaten up, as Grumpy / DJ have scored 32 points in the last 3 weeks, however this has also seen their Handicaps dramatically reduce and I hope the 'Summer Handicap Committee' are watching closely as they seem to be able to play to the lower ones quite easily.......................Watch this space.
Thanks to Cosmo for standing in at 20 minutes notice for young Ollie who was not feeling great apparently - Get well soon young Man (You have a best card KO to play this Sunday against Grumpy / DJ).
This coming Sunday the Format is Betterball Bogey - please see the attached detailed Format below. There may be a Nuclear Fallout left out on the course from the Day before's 'Non-Perishables' Competition with a Twist - which may mean there are a few obstacles between you and the Green, or from the Tee - the Full extent of this will not be known until Saturday. I will pass on more information after I have played on Saturday, as then I will know what 'Greenkeepers Revenge' will actually mean!!
Have a great week
Kex
