The course

Bury is one of the premier courses in the North Manchester area and is located between Whitefield and Bury on the A56 about 5 minutes north of junction 17 of the M60 ring road. This par 70 semi-moorland course is not long at 6088 yards but is considered to be a very good test of golf.

There are 4 par 3’s, the 1st, 10th 14th and 17th. The 17th being a superb 110 yard par 3 playing to a plateau green possibly considered to be Bury’s signature hole.

There are two par fives, the 6th and 9th. The 6th is a new hole for 2011 and measures 529 yards but plays longer as it is mostly uphill after the drive. When playing the 9th longer hitters who want to try for the green in 2 should be very careful  of the out of bounds on the left.

The course has improved dramatically in the last 12 months and is an absolute pleasure to play, every hole is different and  however many times you play it is never boring and requires a different approach dependant on wind and weather conditions.
